This section encompasses the widest range of hand-painted possibilities. Included are clouds and skies, floral and leaf borders, hand- lettering, and illustration.

Color-Blended Finishes
A soft blend of related paint colors, used for such looks known as “old world”, “Tuscan”, “sueded”, or “color-washed”. Color-blended finishes can give the look of aged plaster without using real plaster. These finishes are also the base for sky scenes and multi-layered marble finishes.

Glaze Finishes
Glazing is using a translucent color or colors over a painted base color. A variety of looks can be achieved, depending on the tool and technique used to apply the glaze. Glazes are used for leather, parchment, and “tea-stained” looks, striaes and woven- fabric looks. Glazes are also used for an antiqued look on painted wood trim.

Faux Finishes
“Faux” means “False”, and faux finishing refers to paint treatments that try to mimic another material. These include marble, granite, or stone finishes, and wood graining.

Textured Finishes
Textured finishes include stucco, plaster, and Venetian plaster finishes, as well as crinkled-tissue treatments and decoupage.

Aged & Distressed Finishes
This section includes paint treatments that give walls, furniture, and other surfaces an aged, well-worn look. Multi-layered paint treatments are cracked, rubbed, or worn through to reveal underlying surfaces.
